I woke up. That’s enough

“I woke up. That’s enough.”

I hate that Christianity has so many Christians developing this mindset.

Quality of life matters too.

Just saying.

A lot of Christians allow themselves to struggle and “go through” because they were sold this ideology and believed it.

Waiting for their seasons to come that never came years later because now they have 2 different beliefs about 1 thing.

Or waiting on seasons, period, when YOU can literally change your own season by applying the spiritual law of sow/reap aka cause and effect, by changing what you’re sowing (because it works regardless). A lot of people sow nothing and get nothing. A lot of people sow unfavorable actions and get unfavorable results. When all you LITERALLY have to do is change what you’re doing that aligns with your desires aka the season you keep waiting on, and you’ll see it.

It’s really all so simple!!!

But because “I’m alive” is enough for them, they take no accountability for how their life shape up. No aspirations. Aiming for nothing but a life of struggle.

I grew up being taught that as long as I was alive, God has done enough for me and I should be happy with that no matter how much of hell I could ever live in. It was a blessing to be alive and God has His hand on me no matter how much I could ever get closer to the poverty line. My husband could beat me day in and day out, but I should be happy that he hasn’t killed me yet and God’s got me. There are so many “be content with just being alive” scenarios I can speak on but I think you get the drift by now.

That ideology is insane! It’s toxic. It holds people back from living a really good life because they really believe the nonsense that they have been taught over the years.

And a lot of us were taught stuff like this since we were children. Of course, some of us actually believe it or have believed it at some point.

The craziest truth about it is, that the people who push this ideology that God waking you up in the morning is enough, and you shouldn’t aim to live what you would consider a good life if you weren’t brainwashed to believe that, are people who live a good life. People who go get the cars they want. They get the houses they want. They date and marry as often as they want. They have always taught this while living their best lives.

Stuff like this is likely part of the reason why I don’t feel like I fit in with Christianity.

Because a lot of stuff I was taught, I don’t agree with and always felt like it was some bull. *Cough cough* and a lot of it is.

What are some toxic teachings you’ve heard in church?
